Tons of useful information here for Nebraska fishermen in general, including:
A nice group of fly fishermen (and Women).
They meet at the Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm. They meet to fish on the Saturday following each Wednesday meeting (sometimes it's the 3rd Saturday of the month, sometimes the 4th.)
During the colder months, when fly fishing is impossible, they meet at the Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium to tie flies and tell fish stories.
Membership is $24 per year, and new members will receive a free box of flies tied by other members! Beginners and youngsters welcome (accompanied by an adult).
You can learn to fly fish with helpful experienced fly fishermen.
Don't have any equipment? Come anyways!
Directions: Take interstate 80 to exit 432 Gretna. (It's about halfway between Lincoln and Omaha just North of the Platte River.) Then take route 31 South about 5 miles or so. The Aquarium will be on the left. If you see the Platte river on your right (about 30 feet from the road) you've gone too far.
